Sex before marriage no doubt has become a trend today, even among believers... But that does not make it less a sin?
The Bible is replete with scriptures prohibiting this act.
Heb. 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
In Matt. 1:18-25, The Virgin Mary was in courtship with Joseph and they never knew each other sexually until after paying her dowries in verse 24 and verse 25 emphasizes that he knew her not until.....
I am yet to see any case in the Bible where premarital sex is promoted in the Bible... Where someone had sex with his/her would-be spouse before marriage and was celebrated. Rather we see people like Jephta's daughter in Judges 11:37-38 using 2months to celebrate her virginity before her father offered her as a vow to God.
In Luke 2:36 the Bible speaks of one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
Virginity is a thing of pride. The mere fact that you as a man or lady is engaged is not a license to premarital sex.
Away from biblical references, several recent surveys show that couples who had sex in the course of their courtship had greatest issues of trust in their marriages. There are also several instances of men who jilt their fiancees after having sex with them; suggesting that love, emotions and affections reduce drastically once sex is introduced before marriage. So for younger persons stepping into relationships; just know that premarital sex would do more harm to your relationship before marriage.
People should fear God because on the last days, all these anti-scriptural teachings and doctrines would be judged. The Bible warns about the in 2Tim 3 and Matt. 24.
We are also warned to beware of these set of teachers so as not to be deceived in Matt. 24:4-5 and in Revelation, the Bible says both the deceivers and those that deceived them shall be cast into hell. The scriptures remains our standard and not what men say.
